The Junior Accountant handles the day to day transaction entry and analysis of overhead expenses and account reconciliations. Assist in month end closing and reconcile GL accounts.

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

• Maintain accounts payable for overhead bills, ensure correct coding to GL for bills and make sure that correct approvals are received.
• Review and enter employee expense reports.
• Assist in monthly financial statements.
• Reconcile account.
• Run daily reports and prepare analysis.
• Maintain tax reporting for a segment of the business.
• Complies with all Witmer Public Safety Group Policies and Procedures.
• Performs any other duties or projects assigned by the management team.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Accounting, or equivalent business experience in accounting.
• Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
• Detail oriented; ability to notice discrepancies and post information accurately.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
• Intermediate skill level required in Excel.
• Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision.
• Maintain reasoning capabilities; to cope with tight deadlines; changing priorities; handle stress and maintain mature problem-solving demeanor.
• Ability to meet all required deadlines; ability to change priorities quickly as needed; ability to independently handle stress and maintain a mature problem-solving demeanor.
