Position Summary: Billing Coordinator


The Billing Coordinator is responsible for managing the full billing process for a group of assigned attorneys and clients, ensuring that invoices are issued accurately and in compliance with client terms and firm policies. The role serves as a primary billing resource, working closely with attorneys, legal secretaries, and firm management to handle all aspects of billing, collections, and inventory management.

Key Responsibilities


  • Prepare accurate and timely invoices in line with client terms, discounts, and outside counsel guidelines.

  • Manage e-billing submissions and revisions, ensuring completeness and timeliness.

  • Maintain regular communication with attorneys regarding aged accounts and recommend write-offs as needed.

  • Respond to billing-related inquiries from attorneys, clients, and internal staff.

  • Support accrual requests, fee arrangements, and audit letter responses.

  • Use tools such as Excel and BRL dashboards to report on billing and collections.

  • Assist with applying unidentified cash and correcting diary entries and time transfers.

  • Ensure accurate documentation of client billing preferences and procedures.

Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree preferred.

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a professional services environment using billing systems like 3E, Elite, or Aderant .

  • Strong analytical, communication, and customer service skills.

  • Able to work independently with limited supervision.

  • Willingness to work outside regular hours as needed to meet deadlines.

Compensation


Base salary range by location (USD):


  • Boston, Chicago, D.C., Los Angeles : $63,700 - $92,350

  • New York : $66,700 - $96,700

  • Silicon Valley, San Francisco : $69,700 - $101,150
