We are currently seeking a Software Engineer Level 3 to support the design, development, and deployment of a Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) solution in a Linux-based HPC environment. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to groundbreaking AI efforts supporting critical national security initiatives.
Your Role As a Level 3 Software Engineer, you will work individually and collaboratively to design, develop, test, deploy, document, maintain, and enhance complex software systems. These systems may include large-scale analytics, real-time systems, novel algorithm development, and data-driven platforms. You will support both legacy sustainment and forward-leaning modernization efforts—contributing to system design, integration, and performance optimization.
What You’ll Do - Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance needs
- Design and develop new software or modify existing applications to improve functionality and performance
- Debug software, correct defects, and integrate components into new or existing systems
- Implement complex algorithms and develop event-driven and data-driven analytics
- Work within Agile development environments using CI/CD pipelines and source control tools
- Create and maintain documentation, conduct code reviews, and execute software test procedures
- Lead or support software development teams, contributing to design trade-offs and process improvement
- Ensure quality control and compliance with technical standards throughout development lifecycle
Core Technologies & Skills - Languages: Python, Golang, C, C++, JavaScript, Ruby, Perl
- Platforms & Tools: Linux CLI & shell scripting, Docker, PodMan, containerd, Kubernetes, Docker Compose
- Frameworks: Spring, Kafka, LLM orchestration tools, queue management systems
- DevOps & CI/CD: Git, GitLab CI, Prometheus, Grafana
- Databases: SQL, Elasticsearch, Vector databases (e.g., FAISS, Pinecone)
- AI/ML Focus: RAG pipelines, LLMs, embedding models, GPU-aware debugging
- Collaboration Tools: Atlassian suite (Confluence, Jira), Eclipse IDE
- Other: Cloud-based solutions, scientific analysis for software design, performance modeling
Qualifications: Minimum Required: - Clearance: TS/SCI with Polygraph
- Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Candidates must meet one of the following:
- Master’s degree in Computer Science (or related) + 5 years of SWE experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or related) + 7 years of SWE experience
- 9+ years of professional experience as a SWE on similar programs of scope and complexity
Preferred Qualifications - Experience with distributed data processing (e.g., Spark, Dask, Ray)
- Experience with HTMX or Hyperscript
- Familiarity with multi-node, multi-GPU model training
- Understanding of AI inference tools such as Nvidia NIM/TRITON or vLLM
- Demonstrated leadership in software engineering teams or technical mentorship
Compensation Range: $215,000.00 - $237,000.00*The salary range provided reflects an estimate based on current market trends and may be adjusted based on factors such as the candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications. The final offer will be tailored after a thorough evaluation of the candidate’s background and suitability for the role.
