Job Description

A full-time educator specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) services is needed to support K-12 students across seven intermediate schools within an itinerant role based in Fort Worth, TX. This contract opportunity begins as soon as possible, with an anticipated start date of June 11, 2026, and continues through the current school year (CSY). The position requires onsite presence, as virtual or remote services will not be provided.

Key responsibilities include delivering pull-out instruction tailored to students with hearing impairments, training students on the use of their assistive technology equipment, advocating for student needs, and ensuring accommodations are consistently enforced in collaboration with classroom teachers. Active participation in Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) meetings and evaluation (EVAL) sessions is essential. The role also includes coverage of a full-time maternity leave from November to March for an elementary campus DHH position.

Desired qualifications and experience:

  • Certification or licensure in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education
  • Experience working with K-12 students who are DHH in an itinerant model
  • Ability to provide direct instruction and training on assistive listening devices and related technology
  • Strong advocacy skills with knowledge of accommodations and IEP processes
  • Experience participating in ARD meetings and conducting evaluations
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and educators
