*Usual shift hours: Shift starting and ending times may change at times as required by the needs of the business. This position requires an 11pm - 7am shift Monday thru Friday as well as some weekend work on occasion.
Elevator Operators are primarily responsible for operation of loading and unloading of semi-trailers or rail cars, filling in paperwork for inventory control on a daily basis, cleaning and grading of raw grain or malt as needed, barley and malt transfers, sanitation of associated areas, space fumigation, and other duties as assigned
TYPICAL JOB DUTIES
1. Enter into plant operating system commands for product transfer.
2. Position semi-trailers or rail cars, sample, do quality check on product, program operating system, and unload semi-trailers or rail cars
3. Position semi-trailers or rail cars, inspect/clean hoppers, program operating system, and load semi-trailers or rail cars
4. Operate cleaning and grading line and perform quality checks on finished product.
5. Perform grain transfers, charge steeping bins, take off kiln malt
6. Operate various equipment, i.e. Trackmobile, skid steer, snow blower, etc.
7. Perform confined space duties
8. Perform all requirements of 7.2 space fumigation
9. Sanitation as assigned and necessary to maintain GMP standards.
10. Any other jobs deemed necessary by management for the efficient operation of the Manitowoc Facility, and/or other operations owned by Briess Industries Inc. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High School diploma or equivalent required. Experience in food plant sanitation and GMP are preferable. Must successfully pass OSHA required pulmonary and fit testing for full face respirator mask, and pass State required knowledge test for 7.2 space fumigation. PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT Frequent sitting, talking, hearing, and occasionally stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, lift (50lbs.), and ability to adjust vision for close vision work. Conformance with Good Manufacturing Practices as specified by plant policies.
