Grant Writer

We are seeking a detail-oriented and mission-driven Grant Writer to join our team. The Grant Writer will be responsible for identifying funding opportunities, researching prospects, and preparing compelling proposals and reports to secure grants from foundations, corporations, and government entities. This role is crucial in helping us grow our programs and serve more children and families affected by autism.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Grant Prospecting:

    • Research and identify new grant opportunities from private foundations, corporations, and government agencies.

    • Maintain a calendar of grant deadlines and reporting requirements.

    • Evaluate funding opportunities for alignment with the school's mission and strategic goals.

  • Grant Writing & Submission:

    • Write persuasive, clear, and tailored grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and supporting materials.

    • Collaborate with staff to gather data, program information, budgets, and impact stories.

    • Ensure timely submission of all proposals and required documentation.

  • Communication & Recordkeeping:

    • Maintain accurate and organized records of past, current, and prospective grants.

    • Communicate regularly with leadership about funding progress, needs, and opportunities.

Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in grant writing, preferably in the education or nonprofit sector.

  • Strong research, analytical, and writing skills.

  • Ability to understand and clearly articulate the mission and programs of the school.

  • Familiarity with grant databases and fundraising platforms (e.g., Foundation Directory Online, Grants.gov).

  • Highly organized, deadline-oriented, and self-motivated.

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Preferred:
  • Experience working with or writing grants for programs serving individuals with autism or special needs.
