Overview Halo Studios Halo Studios is the developer of the blockbuster Halo series of video games. As part of Xbox Game Studios, the Halo franchise encompasses games, television series, novels, comics, licensed collectibles, apparel, and more. We are looking for new Spartans to join our team to build the next generation of games and experiences in our award-winning sci-fi universe. If so, the Halo team would love to speak with you about becoming our next Lead Concept Artist! The Lead Concept Artist is essential to establish the overall vision of the Halo universe. You will collaborate with the Art Director, development team, and partner team to create imagery that communicates the visual target and intended experience. You should have a strong understanding of composition, color, character, industrial, environment, and graphic design, along with a passion for science fiction aesthetics. Practical knowledge of content creation and experience working in Unreal Engine and with concept art DCC tools are also important. This role offers flexible working arrangements, including working from home up to two days a week (Thursday and Friday). Responsibilities Work closely with the Art Director and Concept team to define the project's look, from the overall vision to specific designs. Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the game universe and technological constraints. Set clear design goals and deliverables to ensure a high-quality, cohesive experience across all platforms. Create and review concept documentation for creative alignment and consistency. Produce illustrations of scenes, environments, props, characters, vehicles, and weapons focusing on composition, atmosphere, lighting, and materials. Create key artwork and vision pieces, transforming existing designs into world-class illustrations. Assist the Art Director by providing feedback during production and mentoring junior artists. Participate in creative discussions and cross-team reviews to foster collaboration. This position requires 60% onsite work (Monday-Wednesday). Helping all candidates find great careers is our goal.
