The General Motors Manufacturing Group is seeking to identify highly motivated and qualified individuals for
current and potential

Onsite: This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to
Flint, Michigan on a full-time basis.
The Role: As a Group Leader in Production, Quality, or Global Supply Chain (GSC), you will be responsible for leading teams of employees or technical personnel to drive operational excellence across manufacturing processes. This includes managing daily operations, developing and improving business processes, and fostering a culture of teamwork and collaboration.
In this role, you may oversee production activities, quality assurance, inspection, problem-solving, and GM Built-in-Quality initiatives. You will be expected to apply independent judgment within the framework of Global Manufacturing Systems, with a strong focus on Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, Cost, and Environment (SPQRCE).
Selected candidates will gain the chance to develop new skills while contributing to the advancement of manufacturing processes that support the groundbreaking shift toward electric and autonomous vehicles.
What You'll Do (Responsibilities): \n - Analyze and respond promptly to the manufacturing daily plan, making necessary adjustments to operations as required
\n - Manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities
\n - Possess the experience to manage change and navigate ambiguity
\n - Drive accountability through people and processes which may require difficult conversations
\n
\n
Specific physical requirements of the position include the ability to: \n - Work in a loud manufacturing environment that may not be climate controlled (conditions can be hot or cold)
\n - Possess good physical stamina and coordination to frequently and repetitively:
\n - Bend, twist, kneel, crouch and reach to perform work
\n - Lift or carry materials weighing up to 15 lbs. and periodically carry or lift materials weighing up to 40 lbs.
\n - Walk and stand for prolonged periods of time
\n - Occasionally sit, climb (including ladders and lifts) and drive vehicles and equipment
\n
\n \n - Read standardized work instructions, operate machines and tools, and perform quality inspections
\n - Promptly detect and respond to safety instructions, alarms, and signals
\n - Wear personal protective equipment, for example: safety glasses, gloves, hats, ear plugs, and safety shoes
\n
\n
Your Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications): \n - One year of direct supervisory experience or at least 5 months as an internal GM per diem group leader
\n - Experience managing, leading people, and addressing performance concerns
\n - Experience solving complex problems and working in a fast-paced environment
\n - Strong interpersonal skills, experience managing conflict, and decision making
\n - Demonstrate a high analytical ability to solve complex problems
\n - Basic computer proficiency (i.e. Microsoft Word, typing, email etc.)
\n - Must be willing to work weekends and rotating shifts
\n - 18 years of age or older
\n - High School Diploma or equivalent
\n

What Can Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications): \n - Knowledge of Continuous Improvement Processes (CIP)
\n - Proficient in Throughput Improvement Process (TIP)
\n - Advanced understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes
\n - Experience supervising employees in a union environment
\n - Supply Chain or Quality Experience
\n - Experience implementing Built-in-Quality Initiatives
\n - Red X & DFSS Certification
\n - Lean Manufacturing experience
\n - Knowledge of timekeeping systems
