Our volunteers play an essential role in bringing comfort, connection, and companionship to patients and their families. We are seeking compassionate, reliable individuals who feel called to serve others in a deeply meaningful way.

As a Hospice Companion Volunteer , you will provide emotional support and companionship to patients by simply being present—offering a listening ear, gentle conversation, or a peaceful sense of comfort. No medical experience is required. Your time, empathy, and kindness are the greatest gifts you can give.

What You’ll Do as a Volunteer

Volunteers may support patients in a variety of ways, depending on comfort level and patient needs. Responsibilities may include:

• Providing companionship through conversation, storytelling, or quiet presence
• Reading aloud to patients (books, scripture, poetry, etc.)
• Offering emotional comfort and reassurance
• Playing soft music or sharing calming activities
• Assisting patients with letter writing or sharing memories
• Sitting bedside for companionship support
• Providing brief social visits to brighten a patient’s day
• Communicating visit notes or concerns to the Volunteer Coordinator
