CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our Power & Manufacturing - Advanced Energy/ Generation & Energy Management Team at our office in either Rochester, Syracuse, or Colonie, NY.

YOUR IMPACT

CHA is a leader in sustainable district energy, power and thermal generation systems. Our approach includes critical systems that are maintainable and operable with redundant, fail-safe backups. Our expertise encompasses gas turbines, steam turbines, reciprocating engines, gas plants, biomass plants, coal-fired boiler plants, chiller plants, high-voltage substation, and more. From the early stages of master planning and permitting through comprehensive detailed design, we partner with our clients to create solutions that provide reliable, sustainable energy. Working closely with professional engineers, the Mechanical Engineer assists in the design development, implementation, and technical analysis of various systems to implement new products, or changes to an existing scheme, to suit individual client needs. This individual works on multiple projects in a timely and cost-effective manner to meet client, contractual and company requirements. The Mechanical Engineer aids in preparing technical reports, contract documents and cost estimates for various engineering tasks. This professional performs simple calculations and engineering design using the standards established by federal, state, and local regulations, as well as the company, group, client, etc. The Mechanical Engineer in this role solves routine problems by applying defined procedures, and attends field assignments when appropriate. REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required EIT certification preferred No prior experience required; however, prior internship(s) and/or applicable coursework preferred Demonstrates a strong willingness to learn about the respective engineering discipline Has a strong theoretical knowledge in the respective engineering field Familiar with engineering, computational, and modeling software (Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.) Proficiency with Microsoft Office software required Desire to work in a collaborative team environment with the willingness to assist mid and senior level engineering and project management staff Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style to suit various audiences
