Job Description

A full-time Special Education Teacher position is available to support elementary and middle school students in need of specialized instruction. This contract role provides an opportunity to work with a diverse caseload of students with mild to moderate multiple disabilities across various grade levels. The position focuses on delivering quality intervention services in a structured school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized instruction and support to students with disabilities in grades 1 through 6
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to meet student needs
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to promote student success
  • Monitor and document student progress, adjusting instructional strategies as necessary
  • Manage a caseload of approximately 8 students with mild to moderate disabilities
  • Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom setting in compliance with state regulations

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Ohio Intervention Specialist certification or equivalent licensure in special education
  • Experience working with elementary and/or middle school students with diverse learning needs
  • Strong knowledge of special education laws, assessment practices, and evidence-based instructional techniques
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple students and adapt teaching approaches
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with staff and families

Location:

  • Position based in Marion, Ohio, serving students at one elementary school location

Work Schedule:

  • Full-time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday
  • 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM
  • Contract duration: Full school year
  • Expected start date: September 3rd
