SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

The Online Learning Coordinator serves as the primary liaison for the district's online learning initiatives, including Edmentum, credit recovery, and summer school programming. This position works closely with administrators, teachers, student services, and families to support student engagement, track progress, and ensure equitable access to academic success in online, hybrid, and in-person environments. The role combines academic coordination, data analysis, program oversight, and behavioral support to foster a safe, inclusive, and high-performing learning environment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Serve as the primary contact for Edmentum program operations.
  • Coordinate student and teacher setup in Edmentum, ensuring accurate enrollment and permissions.
  • Conduct data entry, generate reports, and analyze program needs using Edmentum and other platforms.
  • Collaborate with administrators on online learning (OLL) and credit recovery programming.
  • Oversee summer school online credit recovery, including student enrollment, monitoring, and completion tracking.
  • Monitor and assist teachers of record with student progress; meet with students regularly to discuss performance, goals, and interventions.
  • Manage and track billable hours for online learning programs.
  • Partner with Grade Level Assistant School Counselors (ASCs) to support academic caseloads.
  • Develop and maintain behavior management programs at both general and individual levels, aligned with District inclusion and equity practices.
  • Partner with administration and student services to monitor and troubleshoot student engagement across learning models.
  • Maintain baseline data for assessments and aggregate attendance tracking for all enrolled students.
  • Contact parents to provide transparent academic and behavioral support; maintain a detailed communication log.
  • Conduct peer-to-peer and staff-student mediations to repair relationships that may impact learning.
  • Create extracurricular opportunities, including programming for Orioles' Nest after school.
  • Identify and connect students and families to appropriate physical, mental health, and community resources.
  • Work with grade-level teams, risk review processes, and online tools to support academic and wellness needs.
  • Partner with the Athletic Director to monitor student-athlete eligibility per MSHSL standards.
  • Supervise students in various school environments including study halls, lunch, hallways, and transportation areas.
  • Serve as a First Responder for crisis intervention and implement Blue Emergency Response Team (BERT) plans as needed.
  • Act as a mandatory reporter and frequent point of first contact regarding student wellness and mental health.
  • Adapt lesson plans or support activities to meet individual learning needs.
  • Support the reinforcement of academic concepts and life skills in 1:1 and small group settings.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the principal.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Strong working knowledge of Edmentum platform functions, reporting, and data analysis.
  • Understanding of online learning models, credit recovery processes, and academic intervention strategies.
  • Knowledge of child development, learning theories, and equity-based instructional practices.
  • Proficiency in behavior management strategies, Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), crisis intervention, and restorative practices.
  • Ability to analyze student performance data and recommend targeted supports.
  • Familiarity with District discipline policies and equitable student support methods.
  • Proficiency with online tools including Google Workspace, video conferencing apps, PowerSchool, BASIL, and similar platforms.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for reports, parent communications, and presentations.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with administrators, teachers, and support staff.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • May require movement between multiple school sites or locations for meetings, trainings, or student support.

  • May require standing, walking, or supervising in varied environments for extended periods.
  • Involves responding to emergency or crisis situations , sometimes in high-stress conditions.
  • Hours may occasionally extend beyond the regular school day for meetings, activities, or student support needs.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field (preferred).
  • Coursework or certification in online learning, educational technology, or instructional design (preferred).
  • Training in restorative practices, crisis prevention/intervention (e.g., CPI), and behavior management strategies.
  • Professional development in equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive practices.
  • Background in online learning environments , credit recovery programs, or blended learning models.
  • Experience collecting, analyzing, and reporting student performance and engagement data.
  • Prior work supporting student academic interventions and individualized learning plans.
  • Direct experience in student supervision , crisis intervention, and de-escalation.
  • Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams (administrators, counselors, teachers, and support staff).
  • Work with families and community resources to address student wellness and academic needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse student populations in an equitable and inclusive manner.
