Radiographer at Express Care Urgent Care Centers summary:

The Radiographer performs radiographic exams following established protocols, ensures patient safety through radiation protection measures, and provides basic patient care and education. We currently have immediate openings at our Largo location- 10416 Campus Way South, Upper Marlboro MD 20774.

Job Responsibilities:

• Performing Radiographic Exams: Taking x-rays while following established protocols and positioning techniques
• Patient Education: Provide patients with explanations of procedures and appropriate positioning prior to performing the x-ray
• Radiation Safety: Practicing radiation protection measures to minimize radiation exposure to patients and employees
• Basic Patient Care: Assist with triaging, discharge, and other basic patient care as Radiology workflow allows
• Vital sign measurement: Measure and record blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, and height/weight
• Basic lab procedures: Perform simple laboratory tests such as EKGs, urine specimen collection, and influenza nasal swabs

Minimum Requirements:

• Education:

1. Associate’s degree or equivalent (Required)
2. Completion of an approved R.T program (Required)

• Licenses & Certifications:

1. Current ARRT certification (Required)
2. Maryland State Radiographer License (Required)
3. CPR Certification (Required)

• Work Experience:

1. Minimum one year of clinical experience in a physician’s office or hospital (preferred)

• Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

1. Knowledge of medical terminology
2. Understanding of human anatomy
3. Proficiency in operating x-ray equipment
4. Superior customer service skills
5. Effective written and verbal communication skills
6. Reliable transportation with the willingness to comply with the company travel policy
7. Ability to work 12+ hour shifts, stand/walk for long periods, and lift 25 lbs.
8. Must have scheduling flexibility, including weekends and holidays

Pay & Benefits:

• Competitive hourly pay: $35-$40, plus opportunities for overtime
