Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position caring for high-risk pregnancies on night shifts in a large hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Position is in the Mother Baby Unit/Maternity of a large hospital
• Patient population includes high-risk labor and delivery cases
• Night shift schedule is 7p - 7a, 5 days per week
• Uses Epic EMR system
• May be required to float to a nearby sister hospital
• Assess, plan, and provide care for laboring and postpartum patients with a focus on high-risk conditions
• Demonstrate competent clinical, assessment, and documentation skills throughout the patient care continuum
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure patient safety and promote positive outcomes
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA guidelines
• Adhere to National Patient Safety Goals and Universal Protocols including proper patient identification
• Scrub/dress code requirements per hospital policy
• Holiday coverage may be required as needed
• All travelers are limited to one calendar year in assignment, after which a 30-60 day break is mandatory before returning

Requirements

• Active NJ or Compact RN license required prior to consideration
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing is required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
• At least 2 years of travel experience in large hospital settings with high-risk pregnancies is required
• Experience using Epic EMR is preferred
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
