Position Overview: This role blends analytical rigor with bold creativity, helping top clients navigate change, identify opportunities and stay ahead of what's next.
Trend and Color Associate Responsibilities:
• Determining macro movements in culture, design, style and product 12-18 months in advance.
• Setting the seasonal narrative with regard to color, concept, fabric, print and pattern, design details, and key items and translating to client needs.
• Develop and present seasonal trend reports, color palettes. mood boards and concepts across classifications to merchandising teams and clients.
• Identifying micro movements closer to season and in real time to support merchandising curations, wardrobing, and marketing/social media expression.
• Comprehensive research in global fashion, cultural trends and market shifts.
• Regular trend hunting, retail competitive analysis, reviewing runway collections, street style & trade shows.
• Write, edit and design presentations, publications and client-facing deliverables that inspire, inform and influence.
• Support client projects.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients.
Trend and Color Associate Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree required
• 4 years’ experience in trend and color analysis, design background a plus.
• Comprehensive understanding of fashion industry; a working knowledge of brands, fashion history, and lifestyle trends.
• Exceptional ability to generate original ideas, identify emerging cultural shifts and translate them into strategic narratives.
• Excellent research and analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear, actionable insights.
• Understanding of client objectives and ability to create merchandising strategies that drive growth.
• Strong writing, reporting and presentation skills - comfortable presenting to clients and
executives.
• Ability to realize projects from concept to finished deliverable.
• Strong work ethic, flexible to changing business needs.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work seamlessly with different teams.
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and InDesign.
