General Summary

The Yard Goat Operator is responsible for the safe and timely movement of containers and trailers within the facility yard to support the Shipping & Receiving department. This role ensures efficient yard operations, maintains inventory accuracy, and upholds safety standards.

Responsibilities (if applicable):

• Safely move containers between designated yard locations and dock/warehouse areas.
• Verify and ensure correct containers are positioned at the appropriate docks.
• Maintain accurate yard inventory logs and documentation.
• Communicate effectively with the Shipping & Receiving department to coordinate trailer movements.
• Keep work areas clean and free of debris, maintaining awareness of surroundings (vehicles, people, equipment).
• Install container chassis supports when required.
• Assist other departments with general labor tasks as needed.
• Operate other vehicles or equipment when necessary.
• Help maintain the accuracy, security, and integrity of company assets.
• Ensure safety of personnel in the vicinity during container movements.
• Maintain an organized and efficient trailer yard layout.
• Report any mechanical issues or trailer damage immediately.

Qualifications/Experience:

• Minimum 2 years of verifiable experience operating yard goat equipment.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including extreme heat or cold.
• Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays.
• Reliable transportation and punctual attendance.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and strong initiative.
• Valid driver’s license required.
