  Job Summary  

Our boutique insurance defense firm seeks an experienced Billing Clerk. Candidates must have knowledge of MS Office, be organized with the ability to multitask, have attention to detail and a proven ability to meet deadlines. 

The responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

• Preparing and processing invoices for legal services. 
  
   
• Review of files to ensure accurate records of all hours billed. 

• Finalizing legal invoices

• Uploading to billing platforms 

• Handling billing disputes and working toward a timely resolution. 

• Collaborating closely with attorneys to ensure billing accuracy. 

• Ensuring compliance with company billing policies and guidelines. 

The qualified candidate should be used to a high-volume practice and be a self-motivator. 

A cover letter MUST include a salary requirement and details of past law office experience. 

  Priority consideration will be given to those who:  

• Proven experience as a Legal Billing Clerk or a similar role within accounting. 

• Excellent knowledge of billing procedures and practices. 

• Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail. 

• Have used legal case management software; 

• Have knowledge of NYSCEF and Federal court filing 

Salary: $45,000 - $50,000/year - Entry level will be entertained, but priority will be given to experience and salary range will be adjusted accordingly.
