We are on a journey of continuous growth – now looking for our next star – a passionate Quality Assurance Engineer. This position reports to the Quality Manager and will work in Sparta, TN.

About the position

As Quality Assurance Engineer of the Sparta team, you will be involved in monitoring the Quality of manufactured and supplied Product, analyzing Quality trends, and implementing Internal Corrective Actions. The Quality Engineer will provide Shop Floor leadership and guidance related to Incoming/In-process/Final Inspection and be a key contributor to ISO 9001 and the Sparta RGA / Warranty process. The Quality Engineer will demonstrate the ability to support other functional areas and work independently while performing at a high level in a fast-paced work environment. This position will focus on Plant Quality.


Your Main Responsibilities

  • Coordinate ISO 9001 Plant Activity and Lead ISO Internal Audit Team
  • Lead the Returned Goods Authorization process and work with Customers to resolve (RGA) claims
  • Perform SOP Audits, Manage Document Control, and the Sparta Smart System
  • Understand the Dometic-Sparta 5Why / 8D process and work with Cross Functional Teams to address Issues
  • Investigate Quality problems and troubleshoot Production floor related Quality issues
  • Collaborate with Dometic Personnel regarding PPAPs
  • Participate in Material Review Board and work with cross-functional Teams to implement Corrective Actions
  • Report Plant Quality Issues to the Management Team in a presentable manner (e.g., Data, PPT Presentations, Teams Meetings, Metrics, etc.)
  • Assist Lab and Quality Technicians
  • Lead containment, sort, and any rework activity related to Quality spills - Internal / External
  • Manage Calibration (Coordinating, Tracking, Scheduling) and assist with Gage Design and Testing Equipment

Skills & Requirements

A suitable background would be a solid experience within Quality and Manufacturing as well as the following qualifications and experiences:
  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology, Applied Sciences or 3 - 5 years' experience in a Tier-1 (Manufacturing) Quality Engineering position
  • ISO 9001 Certified Auditor
  • CQE, CQT, or Six Sigma Greenbelt
  • Excellent Print reading and Metrology skills
  • PPAP Core Tools Implementation
  • Calibration Certification (CCT, etc.)
  • Microsoft Office applications and Minitab
