Job Description

A rewarding opportunity is available for a Teacher specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education to support K-12 students for the upcoming school year. This contract position is based in Arvada, Colorado, within a dynamic educational setting dedicated to fostering inclusive learning environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction tailored to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, addressing their unique academic and communication needs.
• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
• Utilize appropriate assistive technologies and communication methods to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
• Monitor student progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, speech-language pathologists, and support staff to ensure a cohesive educational experience.
• Provide support and training for families to help reinforce learning at home.

Qualifications:

• Valid teaching certification with a specialization in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education.
• Experience working with K-12 students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
• Strong knowledge of communication methods such as American Sign Language (ASL) and assistive listening devices.
• Ability to design and implement effective, individualized instructional plans.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
