Job Description

A K-12 educational institution in Ashland City, TN is seeking a skilled Teacher specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing students for the upcoming school year. This contract position offers the opportunity to support the academic and social development of students with hearing impairments in a comprehensive school setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to the needs of Deaf and Hard of Hearing students.
• Employ appropriate communication methods including sign language and auditory training.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, speech therapists, and support staff to ensure inclusive learning experiences.
• Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
• Provide resources and support to families and caregivers.

Qualifications:

• Certification in Deaf Education or a related field.
• Experience teaching K-12 students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) preferred.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to adapt instructional materials to diverse learning abilities.
